Come and join us at the South Beach Open Mic at the South Beach Community Center on Ferry Slip Road across from the Aquarium Village held (almost always) on the 4th Saturday of each month. This wonderful event has been hosted by our friend Scott Paterson and his Sea Changes crew (Renea and Kate plus Sandy and Skye). Scott has asked us to take it over and we are honored to do this thing! What a fantastic group of musicians we have encountered at these monthly gatherings - and a warmer and more receptive audience you will not find! This community deserves this kind of family friendly event so we will keep it going just as long as all of you wish us to do so! Lately we have all been potluck-ing it, and that seems to be going really well, so join in on the fun as you like. So here's the scoop: Musicians (and a few spoken word artists) just show up and sign up at the door, and plan to perform your three best efforts (or you can call us and reserve a time/spot if you like). Not a musician but want to hear great stuff? Just bring yourselves on down (and a bit of food if you care to do so) and we will supply the music, coffee, tea, and fellowship! The next schedule of 2008 Open Mics is: Saturday, May 31st 5:30pm (NOTE: This is the 5th Saturday of the month, so not our usual spot!!) Saturday, June 28th 5:30pm (4th Saturday of the month) Saturday, July 26th 5:30pm (4th Saturday of the month)

Recording opportunity at the Open Mic's: Many of you are aware that late last year we (Oregon Coast Recording) recording all songs performed at the 4th Saturday open mic's at the South Beach Community Center during the months of September, October and November, 2007. We mixed and mastered 22 songs that were included on a professionally duplicated CD with artwork to represent the Open Mic experience. Scott still has copies for sale, and we will make sure we continue to offer them at the Open Mics. If you haven't got a copy yet, remember to pick one up at the next session! They are really wonderful, and the talent is exceptional!
We may look at doing this again in the future if there is sufficient interest. Here is how we organized it last time: Original Proposal to Scott Paterson (host of Open Mic) Sept 2, 2007: I was looking at a potential breakdown for live recording of the open mic events 4th Saturday of each month south beach community center 6:00 pm. Record 3 events Sept, Oct, Nov, with 4 to 6 acts @ apprx 1.5 to 2 hours total. $100.00 set-up, recording fee for each event. Total $300 Mixing/mastering of 14 songs flat fee total $250 Artwork flat fee for project total $200 200 CDR discs complete with on disc printing/cover art/back page artwork/credits and song titles. Total $500 This is a special offer with the goal of providing a service to this particular group of local musicians. These discs would make excellent x-mas gifts, demos, or simply to have a professionally produced disc as a testament of this event. The discs could be used as desired or made available at the open Mic events, etc. Potentially 14 recording slots are available. These would each need to be limited to 5:00 minutes or under. Total time available is 70 minutes. Each slot would take a commitment of $95 Each paid slot would receive 14 discs for a total of 200. Up to 3 slots are available per person. If you would like to record more than 3 songs it may be worth looking at a studio project at our Waldport studio. So plan now. If this were started in September the discs would be completed and in hand by Christmas. This could also be looked upon as an after the New Year 2008. 200 discs total cost $1250 Gary and Vallorie Oregon Coast Recording ______________________________________________________________________ Songwriters Take Note: To obtain Online Copyrights Registrations in minutes, go to www.WorldWideOCR.com International protection and archives for your copyrights, starting at around $3. Save time and a lot of money!
Winter of 2005 featured Clean Slate hosting jam/open mic sessions at the Moose Lodge and the Landmark. This page archives some of those moments ---- All musicians were welcome to bring an instrument or just a voice, and check in with Vallorie or Gary at the stage. It was about the music, the groove and the shared experience, and we appreciated the fun and variety!
. The Moose Lodge in Waldport: Typically one or two Fridays each month 7pm to 9-ish (often later). This is a large stage and we can fit plenty of musicians into the mix. What a great way to bring people to the Moose Club - this is a wonderful venue for our community. If you aren't a member no sweat, come in and be our guest and check it out. With a great bar, a huge dance floor and a non-smoking section that doubles as an underage section, this is a place you can bring the entire family. There is a games room for kids, pool tables, and more. 2006 JAM/Open Mic CALENDAR: Moose Lodge Waldport Friday-Mar 24th 7:00 p.m. Moose Lodge Waldport Friday-Feb 24th 7:00 p.m. Moose Lodge Waldport Friday-Jan 6th and 20th 7:00 p.m.
